40 years ski resort Grebenzen
With the building of the ski lift at Grebenzen at 1966/67, the successful development of the ski resort at St. Lambrecht starts. At this time more partners could be found for financing the ski lift, but today the whole responsibility for the famous and family-friendly ski resort is with the two brothers Anton and Ègyd Plank. Their father Anton Plank sen. was already part of building the 1st ski lift at the Grebenzen.
At 1972, for a first step, the brothers Plank bought the ski lift on the first Grebenzen hight. With a lot of energy, fun and as well ready for a risk, they started to build up and enlarge the ski resort. At 1976 the Dreiwiesenlift was built. In the 1980s they built a connction between the 2 ski lifts with the Kessellochlift. After 5 years of rent the district St. Lambrecht decided to sell the Pabstin lifts to the family Plank. Unbelievable, but the skiers used to be brought by bus, several times a day, to the pistes with its ski lifts. Because of ist beautiful landscape and increasing popularity it became necessary to build the Pabstin-ski centre at 1997. At 2000 the fourseat-tram was erected with the help of Styria.
Today there are 8 ski lifts and 23 kilometers best prepared pistes for our guests. A modern artificial snow spreader secures, even in winters with less snow, skiing pleasure.
The 1998 opened sport store Plank supports you with everything you need for your winter sport - no matter if skis for rent, service for your skis and/or other sport articles.
We look after your physical well-being at the resataurant Pabstin, which is owned by family Plank since 2001 as well.
To enlarge the offer for tourists in the nature park at Grebenzen and to enable the infrastructure of the restaurants and the fourseat-tram to be used in summer as well, at 2002 with support of the province of Styria and the EU there was erected the summer fun sledge.
